Modern Chemicals & Services Company Ltd. (MCS) represents a Joint Venture between Modern Chemical Company Ltd and EPC Minetech, a subsidiary of EPC GROUPE of France. At the core of MCS’s operations is the manufacture and supply of civil explosives, alongside tailor-made services designed to meet the expanding needs of the mining and construction industries within the Kingdom. In 2007, motivated by the Kingdom’s strategic plan to elevate the mining industry as the Third Pillar of the Saudi Economy, the owners of Modern Industrial Investment Group embarked on a journey to produce civil explosive materials essential for the burgeoning sectors of mineral exploitation and construction. Their quest led them to the global leader in explosives, EPC Groupe of France, whose innovative technology and products garnered the attention of the Saudi Ministry of Industry. This resulted in MCS being granted a license in 2009 to manufacture civil explosive materials in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia using EPC Technology.

MCS’s profound understanding of the Saudi market in infrastructure, mines, cement, and construction sectors facilitated a smooth launch of the joint venture. The company operates two state-of-the-art manufacturing units strategically located at Somman in the Eastern region and Jamoom in the Western region. This geographical positioning allows for rapid service delivery across the Kingdom, from East to West, and North to South. As a result, MCS has established itself as a safe, reliable supplier of quality products and a provider of economical and effective drilling & blasting solutions.
