Our Journey: Two Stories, One Vision

Modern Chemicals & Services Co. Ltd (MCS) is a dynamic and innovative Saudi Arabian company specializing in the production and supply of civil explosives. We operate through two primary divisions: the first focuses on the manufacture, sale, and supply of explosives, while the second specializes in drilling and blasting advisory services. Our operations are underpinned by a commitment to excellence, safety, and innovation, tailored to support the burgeoning mining and construction industries in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

MCS is the result of a strategic Joint Venture between Modern Chemicals & Services Co. Ltd and EPC Minetech, a subsidiary of EPC GROUPE of France. This partnership reflects our shared dedication to providing high-quality, reliable, and innovative solutions that meet the expanding needs of our clients.

Growth and Expansion: A Testament to Excellence

Inspired by the Kingdom’s strategic vision to support the mining industry, the Modern Industrial Investment Holding Group – MIG – was established in 2007. Then the holding group embarked on a journey to establish the Modern Chemicals & Services Company – MCS – as one of its subsidiaries to produce civil explosives, which are vital and active materials for the mineral exploitation and construction sectors.

Our quest for excellence and innovation led us to collaborate with the global leader in explosives, EPC Groupe of France, culminating in MCS being granted a license in 2009 to manufacture civil explosive materials in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia using advanced EPC Technology.

MCS’s profound understanding of the Saudi market has enabled us to establish two state-of-the-art manufacturing units in Somman in the east region and Jamoom in west region the kingdom. This strategic positioning ensures rapid service delivery across the peninsula and neighboring countries, making MCS a trusted name in safe, reliable, and economical drilling and blasting solutions.
In addition, our services include building temporary warehouses and magazines facilities at our clients’ project sites, through contractual projects under the Build-Operate-Own-Transfer system within public-private partnerships.
